So E3 is upon us, and as much as I don’t want to give my opinions because I’m self conscious that they are stupid, I’m too excited to not comment on it. My biggest excitement? Microsoft’s Kinect. I wasn’t excited about it at first, thinking that it was just another wii type with a bunch of motion gimmicks, but once I saw it in action with the games being developed for it’s release it’s easy to see the differences. Now Kinect Sports and Kinectimals both look like fun, the game that I found really intriguing was Dance Central. Now before the “omg you’re so lame” comments, please let me remind you I am a girl. I’m also a girl who hangs out the majority of the time with a lot of nerdy boys from tech support (not that it’s a bad thing, I’m a nerdy techie too…) and that means that when I want to go out and dance, most of the time I have no takers on who wants to go with me. I have a lot of dancing that needs to be done, and I love video games. How is this not exciting for everyone?
Well, probably what is more exciting for normal, cool gamers is the untitled Star Wars Kinect game, which is promising the use of light sabers and the force push to battle your enemies in true Kinect fashion. I of course can see myself partaking in some Jedi action but the reason I know this is more awesome then me is I can totally see Joe doing this as well.
The other game that Ubisoft announced that really got me exited was Your Shape: Fitness Evolved. Fitness Evolved is everything that an exercise game should be. It has the game aspect, as well as a personal trainer and fitness classes. The possibility for DLC is unlimited and it is completely customizable for whatever type of exercise you are looking for. Even though the release date and price has not even been announced, the release of just the details of this game have sealed the deal for me purchasing a Kinect.
In other related game news I feel like I really need to catch up on things in order to rightfully enjoy what’s coming. Dead Space 2 looks bad ass, of course I haven’t played Dead Space, so I need to get on that. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood also looks awesome, however I didn’t like Assassin’s Creed so I didn’t even give Assassin’s Creed 2 a chance, although I hear it was much better. I need to get on that too. I have played Fable 2, and even though there was a lot of disappointment regarding the co op that was promised and the ending that fell short, I am still very excited about Fable 3. I feel that they can improve what wasn’t improved in Fable 2 and will definitely be playing that as soon as it comes out. I’m not normally a Star Wars fan, but I am so ready to play Star Wars the Old Republic. That teaser was so impressive it actually made me excited about the game. I’m NEVER EXCITED ABOUT STAR WARS GAMES. Another game I was also surprisingly interested in was Need for Speed:Hot Pursuit. The presentation looked super fun so I will probably be giving it a try when it comes out.
On a final note, Ubisoft. Laser tag? wtf 80’s much?
that is all, I’m sure only until tomorrow.
